I have flown into or out of no less than twenty-seven airports-- fourteen of which were outside the United States, thirteen within the continental US. Twenty-three have been within the past four years.**
What's yours?
*"Fun Facts" is a result of being exposed to a new work environment, one in which is it extremely necessary to learn a ridiculous amount of names, acronyms, homonyms, and pseudonyms in a very short timeframe. One in which "going around the table and introducing one's self" quickly loses any appeal. One where full sentences explaining arbitrary identifying factors is reduced to "Elizabeth. Cal Berkeley. Oakland. Illinois. International Studies." While other random questions are inevitably asked (such as the topic for today's post), the cores inevitably surface to trainees' chagrin.
**a. Sadly, I feel this era ending.
**b. I will not hazard a guess on the number of train stations. The day may come, however, that this grounded girl may indeed make a list. That day, if it does come, will assuredly be within the next still-training week-- that is, if my ingenious plan of positioning the computer monitor just so and effectively blocking my closed eyes from the speaker is suddenly and embarassingly foiled.
