so... this place isn't so bad once you forget your homesickness. forget who you're not travelling with (stephan, beth, kelly, barry, linds... the Verona crew). and once the quiet comes-- the commercials, the pop music, the radio advertisements out of the endless repitition of the mind-- you begin to think. and see. and really find things. it's incomparable to anything else in the world, this meditative state travelling alone requires. but it's... freeing? i'm working out the problems of the world in my little head all the way over here. while reading ayn rand, if that gives anyone any clue.
seen/ heard: oxford university-- where i shall attend st. anthony's college ;)-- the parliament in london (westminister)-- roman baths in bath, seriously amazing-- me, you, and everyone we know, a charming american film-- cardiff, wales and its castle, bay, shops-- and off to a castle tour of wales tomorrow-- many train stations as anyone who's seen europe can attest to-- salisbury (not salzburg!) cathedral and beautiful little town.
cheers!
